CAPC & York Region Public Health Presents: Feeding Young Children

CAPC and York Region Public Health are happy to announce the upcoming Nutrition workshop: Feeding young children - strategies for feeding toddlers and preschoolers This funded workshop is for families/caregivers of toddlers and preschoolers and will take place at our CAPC Markham, Georgina and Vaughan locations. YCD Bev Bernier Professional Development Fund

Funds left for York Child Development & Family Services from the estate of Beverley Joan Bernier have been able to provide meaningful and relevant continuous professional learning (CPL) experiences for early years' professionals throughout York Region. YCD's Board of Directors established a transparent system for making funds available with a criteria and process in place for supporting early years CPL in our community. These funds have supported the early learning and care field for 14 years (2009 – 2023) with CPL, conferences, guest speakers, training, and events. YCD’s Safe Arrival Program

Forgotten Baby Syndrome (FBS) refers to accidentally leaving a baby or young child in a locked car, often with tragic results. We hear of these tragic events each summer, particularly when the daily routine of families alter. One of the prevention strategies, identified in research, is to ensure that child care programs have a system in place to connect with families should a child not arrive in care when expected. Register for EarlyON programs in York Region

York Region has moved to a new Provincial online registration platform that provides an accessible one-stop-shop process for all EarlyON child and family programs across York Region. To access the new platform, families are required to create an account with the Children’s Services Portal. Once an account is created, families can register for any EarlyON program across York Region. 4-Season Outdoor Programs

Considering the current pandemic and our family's desire to get outside, we are pleased to announce the addition of 4-Season Outdoor Programs. It is our hope to offer these programs again in spring 2021. This of course is dependent on local public health recommendations. 4-Season Outdoor Programs are in person and located at local parks, rain, snow, or shine.
